Released on September 19 in 421 theaters, the film grossed 420 million yen on its first day, exceeding initial projections of TOHOwhich estimated a final total of 5 billion yen. The distributor stated that the film “continues to show unstoppable momentum” and has generated great enthusiasm in more than 100 countries, including South Korea and the United States.

The manga of Tatsuki Fujimoto exceeds 30 million copies in circulation and was awarded number one in the men's category of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2021. The first part, “Public Safety Arc,” concluded in 2020, while the second part is published in Shonen Jump+ from 2022.
