“Overlord” “KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world!” “Isekai Quartet” (commonly known as “Isekaru”) is a crossover work of animated works based on popular light novels such as “Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World” and “Tanya Senki.”
As the development continues, “The Rising of the Shield Hero'' and “I Want to Become a Powerful Person Behind the Scenes!'' Characters from works such as “Careful Hero ~ This Hero is Too Cautious Even Though I'm TUEEE~'' have also appeared, and this work has gained popularity and has been expanded to the second season of the TV series and movie version.Currently, the third season of the TV series “Isekai Quartet 3'' is being broadcast and distributed from October 2025!
Isekai2nd conducted email interviews with the voice actors who appeared in the broadcast in conjunction with the broadcast. This time, after the 6th episode aired, Jun Fukushima who played Kazuma, Yusuke Kobayashi who played Subaru, and Kaito Ishikawa who played Naofumi Iwatani answered some questions!
We have also heard about the appeal of “Isekal'', which is unique to crossover works, and the characters from other works that have been combined in “Isekal'', so we hope you will enjoy it along with the broadcast and distribution of the work.
The strong impact left by Motoyasu Kitamura, the Hunter of Love, known as the Hero of the Spear.
–I think it's been a long time since the 2022 movie version of “Isekalu”, so I would like to know how you felt when it was decided that you would return to the TV series.
Jun Fukushima (hereinafter referred to as Fukushima) who plays Kazuma:It's like when you receive information about a class reunion from your favorite class. I was very excited to participate and was looking forward to the recording. There is definitely something that can only be ingested from “Isekal''.
By talking with characters other than the usual members, I can discover new expressions for Kazuma, feel stronger bonds with my friends, and get a lot of stimulation, which is really fun. I'm also secretly looking forward to singing the OP (lol)

Yusuke Kobayashi, who plays Subaru (hereinafter referred to as Kobayashi):I'm happy to be able to hang out with everyone again. I really enjoy acting every time, so the first thing that comes to mind is that I'm worried about the health of the director who has written the scripts for so many films lol.

Kaito Ishikawa (hereinafter referred to as Ishikawa) who plays Naofumi Iwatani:I was excited to be back to that hectic daily life. I hope that Naofumi might be able to make friends this time.

–I think there will be a crossover aspect where you co-star with another work. People who usually co-star in the same work may be able to play characters from different works, and the characters they play may be in the same scene, but were there any difficulties during recording or any memorable directions?
Fukushima:Does the KonoSuba group originally have a lot of comedic elements? largely? It's filled with unique characters, so they fit into this world very well. No matter who I talk to, I can be like normal (lol) I feel like we're the only ones who are cheating, so I'm sorry. (Look back at the first season)
The great thing about “Isekalu'' is that when we need to change or add lines during recording, the original writers come to the scene and come up with ideas on the spot. The lines that are created are immediately imbued into the characters. That live feeling is irresistibly interesting. Also, I felt like I was the first person in the world to be exposed to the new works of the teachers (lol). I feel a great sense of benefit.

Kobayashi:I don't receive any direction, but I feel like I'm intentionally being forced to have conversations with the characters I play, or with other characters of my co-stars (Glantz and Megumin, Granz and Mare), and I get a sense of the director's mischievous spirit lol.

Ishikawa:I didn't have any other appearances in this work, so it was easy for me to play the role.

――It doesn't have to be just the third season, but please also tell us about the characters from other works that have left an impression on you since you were involved with “Isekalu”.
Fukushima:To give you a very personal and maniacal answer, I would say Cocytus and Demiurge. To be honest, this has something to do with the people in the middle (lol), but there are so many people in “Isekal'' that we can't record everyone. So, inevitably, the memories I have with the people I recorded with are strongly reflected… (lol)
Cocytus often interacts with our Darkness-san, but Darkness-san always tries to do things that aren't in the script, so Cocytus-san tries to do a lot of things, but he always says, “Character-wise…'' and looks sad when he says no, which is so endearing! (Sorry for not conveying anything to those who are seriously watching)

For some reason, Demiurge is the one we record with the most. Since we're on the same committee, there are many scenes where he calls me “Kazuma,'' and I've gradually begun to feel a sense of familiarity with the way he calls me “Kazuma,'' perhaps because we spend so much time together both in the role and in real life. It would be embarrassing if I was the only one who felt this (lol). That's why I like Demiurge's “Kazuma”!

Kobayashi:In the main story, “Obaro'' has a strong image that everyone is a symbol of fear, but it's interesting that in this world, even that seems comical. In particular, it's a strange thing about the script that everything Cocytus says seems like a gag. This can be seen everywhere in the third season as well.

Ishikawa:Tanya is impressive. I thought he would be compatible with Naofumi in terms of personality, and I was impressed by how often they interacted with each other.

–I get the impression that new characters have appeared from existing works, making it even more lively. Did you find anything new about these new characters?
Fukushima:Among the new characters, I really love Motoyasu from Shield Hero! It's funny how you say bu*bu* all the time. I'm doing my best to hold in my laughter while recording. I would like to say thank you for bringing me a new breath of laughter. The impact is so strong that I'm even jealous (lol).

Kobayashi:From “Re:Zero'', Otto and Garfiel have newly joined the battle. In the main story, Garfiel in particular often takes a challenging attitude toward opponents outside of Emilia's camp, but in the world of Isekalu, it is impressive to see him having so much fun with unexpected opponents. I feel like I'm looking at him at his age, which makes me feel very warm.

Ishikawa:I was wondering what would happen when the Hero of the Spear, Motoyasu, came to this world, but he ended up stirring up a lot of things in this world as well. And since there was a character who was compatible with Motoyasu, the development was even more confusing.

I'm really jealous of Kazuma…!!
――Were there any unexpected charms of the character you played that you discovered through interacting with characters from other works?
Fukushima:Kazuma's cunning? High responsiveness? I was able to understand it more clearly when I appeared in a work with many characters like this, or rather, I was able to feel it. When you think you're being looked down on, you can be cool, and when you think you're stupid, you can be tsukko. You can be in various positions, and it's easy to form various relationships. I thought it was a fun character to play again. However, when I perform a play, I have to make many choices at the same time, so I have to think about it to the fullest every time.

Kobayashi:There are several depictions of other characters looking up to Subaru. Even the characters who don't know about his growth in the main story have this kind of ambition in his words, actions, atmosphere, etc. aura? I was surprised that something like this was being conveyed. I'm glad that what he's built up is oozing out.

Ishikawa:I'm playing him as if he's a completely different character, so it's a little different from the character's charm in the original world, but I started to wonder if Naofumi was like this before his personality twisted.

–Looking back on the episodes up to episode 6, please tell us about the most memorable scenes and what to expect in the future.
Fukushima:The conversation between Ainz and Roswaal in episode 1 was very impressive. After the first season, the second season, and the movie, I finally stand in front of the secret door of this world, and I'm curious about the lines that the teacher lip-synced at the end! After that, it's episode 5 where my favorite “Yuusha” appears. I would like you to hear the cry of Motoyasu's soul again (lol)

I guess the highlight of the future is “Isekai Konchelto~♪” as sung in the OP. We would like to show you the culmination of “Isekal”, which never forgets the spirit of challenge, and the strength of our unity!

Kobayashi:It's time for cooking practice. Now that I think about it, I don't remember any cooking training in real life… (lol). It looks like it's going to be fun to share the cooking with everyone, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the unique dishes will look like. There will be many seasonal events in the future!

Ishikawa:The scene where Firo admonishes him when he suggests giving him a nickname because his name is confusing left an impression on me. I think it was a scene where you can see that what was named casually when it was named in the main story has now become something important, and that Naofumi also thinks it is important. Please look forward to seeing how he interacts with the new characters in the future.

–I think Subaru, Kazuma, and Naofumi have one thing in common: they came to another world in their original world form. However, each of them has different circumstances and stories, but if there are any parts of the three characters that you feel jealous of or similarities with other than the character you play, please let us know.
Fukushima:I know each of their stories, so I'm not that jealous…gefungefun. Both of them are amazing♪ Ah, but Subaru's shameless flirting in front of people makes me respect him even though I'm annoyed. It's impossible for me. I also thought that someday I would like to become an adult who can say that I am Purichi♪. I'm not really that excited, so I think I'm more excited than Naofumi.

Kobayashi:Naofumi feels close to Subaru because he has overcome difficult circumstances and is now where he is today. I can only envy Kazuma! If you feel like it, go on a quest, have some fun, and get lucky! I'm sure Subaru is enjoying most of the life he envisioned in another world! I’m jealous!!

Ishikawa:I think Kazuma's free-spirited, natural appearance is great. It feels like you're interacting with the other characters in life-size form, so I think they have the charm of having a conversation with you that naturally becomes lively.

–Finally, please give a message to the fans of “Isekal” and other works who are looking forward to the broadcast.
Fukushima:At first glance, it's a heartwarming school story, but it's a deep work filled with laughter, tears, and emotion! The charm of each work and the individuality of the characters are packed into this, and the chemical reaction when they come together is even more interesting! I hope people will watch it over and over again and make new discoveries over and over again. Thank you for your continued support for each work and for “Isekal”.

Kobayashi:In the future, there will also be an episode where we collect foreshadowing of key visuals! The content is exciting until the end, so please stay tuned!

Ishikawa:Thanks to everyone's voices, I was able to return to this world. In this work, even more characters are participating, and the variety of comedy has increased even more, so I hope you will enjoy it until the end.
