──How do you feel about the enthusiasm of your fans? Also, do you have any memorable stories with fans?
Even before I joined as a voice actor, the excitement surrounding the original work was amazing, and it left a huge impression on me.
When I participated in Jujutsu Kaisen as Nanami, the ban was lifted on the weekend and people got really excited. Then, at the beginning of that week, Jump was released on Monday, and Nanami died in the original. During those few days, there was a huge difference in temperature and drop. There was a lot of enthusiasm for Jujutsu Kaisen even before I got involved, and since the first season of the anime, the animation had been gaining momentum due to the synergy with the original work, so I had a strong sense of the work's influence and popularity.
It was being distributed all over the world at the same time, so I got the feeling that it was getting really exciting not only in Japan but also around the world. When I actually went overseas, I was approached by many foreigners and asked how I knew them. When I asked him about it, he said that he mostly watches Jujutsu Kaisen.
──How did you feel when performing Nanami's final monologue scene and the battle scene with the cursed spirits in “Shibuya Jihen”?
I knew the ending of “Shibuya Jihen'' before I started, so when I started recording, I felt both excited and sad that I was finally able to do “Shibuya Incident.'' When I acted, I did my best to play Nanami so that I wouldn't have any bad memories.
After finishing all the roles, I felt like Jujutsu Kaisen had finally come to an end. I think that Nanami's last moments were depicted very carefully, and I felt that the anime staff including the director had a lot of love for Nanami as they played her, and I have the impression that everyone was able to send Nanami off in their own parts, and that everyone created that scene with a sense of love and spirit.

──She appears in front of Gojo for the first time in the form of fake summer oil, but for Gojo, it is a reunion with her best friend, who she thought she had killed. Are there any points you were conscious of when performing this scene?
I wanted to create a moment where Gojo feels out of place, suspicious, eerie, or something that confuses him. The purpose was to capture him in prison, and for that purpose he spent a huge amount of time preparing.
However, I think I was convinced that if I turned into a fake summer oil, I would definitely be able to contain it, so I said such mean things, but in that respect, I wanted to enjoy the conversation as a fake summer oil, and I think that's how I was expressing myself a little.
──You have played many different roles as Natsyu during your time at a technical college, as a Jujutsushi, and Noriyuki Kamo. What kind of existence is Natsyu to you, Sakurai-san?
I closely followed him around the time when it was decided that he would be made into an anime, so I had the attitude of understanding his feelings, but even though I was wondering if there was another way, I was really impressed by the words he said when he parted ways with Gojo, “I've decided how to live my life.''
I'm not prepared for it. I had already made up my mind and decided on my way of life. It's already clear that this way of life is not what Satoru thinks it is, and if he wants to kill me then he should just kill me because it has meaning and meaning.I went into the recording thinking that I didn't want to make him feel bad because he confronted me with that.
Starting with Noriyuki Kamo, it was a little difficult, and I can't explain it well, but I was thinking about the mechanics of the character and expressing it. It's a common explanation, but it's a method that feels like a mathematical or musical approach. It's like using your voice as sound to control it.
From the perspective of the person expressing it, it's interesting in a different way, but as an actor, it's difficult because it's an unconventional method. I enjoyed Xiayu Jie's “Kaitama/Yataori''. Enjoy the difference between fun and interesting with one character.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a blockbuster comic by Gege Akutami that depicts the battle between a curse born from negative human emotions and a sorcerer who uses magic to exorcise it. Serialization began in Shueisha's “Weekly Shonen Jump'' in March 2018, and the story will conclude in September 2024, ending six and a half years of serialization. The cumulative circulation of the comic series has exceeded an astonishing 100 million copies (including digital versions).
The TV anime will start on Mainichi Broadcasting/TBS network in 2020, and the second season of the TV anime “Kaitama/Tamaori/Shibuya Jihen” will be broadcast in 2023. It caused a great response not only in Japan but all over the world.
It has also been decided that the third season of the TV anime, “Death Kaiyu Part 1'', which is a long-awaited sequel, will be broadcast in 2026.

A new theatrical version has been decided to be released! The special edited version of “Shibuya Jihen,” which was the biggest battle in the history of “Jujutsu Kaisen,” will be screened for the first time, and in addition, episodes 1 and 2 of the third season of the TV anime “Death Kaiyu Part 1” will be released for the first time in the world ahead of the TV broadcast.

A curtain is suddenly lowered around Shibuya Station, which is crowded with Halloween guests, and a large number of ordinary people are trapped.
