“Togen Anki'' is a manga work drawn by Yuki Urushibara, which is currently serialized in “Weekly Shonen Champion'' (Akita Shoten). This is a new generation dark hero demon story based on the folk tale “Momotaro'' that all Japanese people know, and depicts the conflict between those who have the blood of demons and those who have the blood of Momotaro.

Masumi Yodogawa is the commander of the reconnaissance unit in Nerima. He is capable of always calmly grasping the situation and making instant decisions, and although his words and actions may seem cold at first glance, he is always thinking of his friends. It is a sight to see how he works with his vice-captain, Dokaori Namiki, who follows him.

Captain of the Nerima Ward Reconnaissance Unit. Mudano and Oiran Sakakyoya are classmates at Rakshasa Academy. He is a bit foul-mouthed, calm and cold-hearted. Although he is strict with the members, he is also affectionate towards them. He says he has given up on facial expressions because of his creed: “Keep a poker face.''

Masumi's ability

Masumi's ability is to become transparent for 10 minutes by licking his own blood. Even the things you wear have the same reactions as your body, so you can use your abilities even with your clothes on. At first, his ability to penetrate only lasted 30 seconds, but he was able to improve it with effort and experience. He has been tortured in the past while on a mission with a reconnaissance unit, and his body has scars from that time.

Masumi's reconnaissance power and determination

Mudano and his students come to Nerima to see the units working in Tokyo, but Empress Zaki Jin ends up using demon blood to save a child in the city. In order to escape from the Momotarō Agency, Jin temporarily takes refuge in the hideout of the Nerima Reconnaissance Unit, but he sneaks out in the middle of the night and goes somewhere else.

When Kaoru tries to request support from the combat troops, Masumi appears and says that the combat troops will not move. Masumi says, “Those who act on their own will die on their own,'' but Masumi clearly explains that he has thoroughly investigated the reason why he cannot move the Nerima unit.

In lieu of not being able to move Nerima's combat troops, Mudano says he will have them move, and Mudano tries to get the students to do it as well so they can get some practice. When Yuzuribe's subordinate says that he can find enemies, but has no fighting ability, he can only be of use to him, and Masumi feels irritated by his words.

Masumi says that the reconnaissance units are fighting on the front lines and are doing so with great determination, and that everyone in the Oni Engine is fighting for their lives.
Words carry weight, and Masumi's determination and thoughts reach his children and other students as well. The students express their determination and show their desire to fight. Mudano tells him that training the students is one of his most important jobs, so Masumi relents and heads off to enemy territory with the students.

Go solo on a reconnaissance mission to discover the enemy's true intentions.

They all headed to the hangout of the half-grey group that had kidnapped Jin. Masumi says that he will first check and organize the situation, so he tries to get Yoko to search for the enemy. However, with the abilities of a child, it is not possible to grasp the inside… Masumi will show you something called “reconnaissance unit work'' and tells you to absorb it.

When Kaoru uses his abilities to find out the structure of the building and the location of the demon, who is probably Jin, Masumi says he will come see it and licks his own blood and becomes transparent. They easily pried open the locked keys and rescued Jin while checking the situation.

Masumi interrogates Jin and immediately senses that he is being voyeurized or eavesdropped using some kind of ability. He calmly looks at the current situation and teaches his students that they should always be cruel in their ways of thinking, but that there are always holes in any ability, so it is important to find them without giving up.

Masumi inspires the students by saying, “If you don't break your heart, your chances will never be zero.'' Even if he has a bad mouth, he is still someone who stands above the rest. Just like Mudano, he preached the teachings to the students.

Stop the runaway Shiki and buy time.

Masumi watches the confrontation between Shiki and Momodera Shinmon. Shiki was overwhelmed by the power of Shinmon, but the power of the “flaming demon” was activated and he went out of control. Despite this, Shiki, who is still conscious, desperately begs him to kill her.

Masumi then appears and says that he will not waste his will to resist the rampage, and since he will attract Shiki, he makes time for Kamimon to kill Shiki. Despite being transparent, Shiki senses Masumi's whereabouts and determines the aim of her attack. Then, the moment Masumi lost his balance, he attacked his leg. My right ankle and below were blown off. For Masumi, who had been standing around without running away, this situation was fatal. Masumi thinks he's at a loss and prepares to die, but then Mudano appears and saves his life.

Voice actor: Atsushi Tamaru

Atsushi Tamaru plays Masumi Yodogawa. Born on February 27th, from Saitama Prefecture. He has played characters in popular works such as Arthur in “A Wizard's Promise'' and Azure Ashengrot in “Disney's Twisted Wonderland.''

He is saved by his classmate Kyoya.

After the battle between Shiki and Kammon ends, Masumi, who has injured his leg, says he will retire from the scene and leave the command to Kaoru, but then Kyoya, who happened to be in Nerima, appears.

Kyoya is as flirtatious as ever and greets Masumi by calling him “Massu”, but he quickly accepts the situation and treats Shiki and Ikari, saying that he will save the children who have a future first. “I'll heal you later,'' he says.

Thanks to Kyoya, Masumi has regained his footing. Looks like we'll see more activity in the field!
