The official website for the animated adaptation of Eren the Southpaw (Hidarikiki no Eren) confirmed that the series will premiere in April 2026. Along with the announcement, a new visual teasera promotional video, the main cast and complete details of the production team.
The anime will be directed by Toshimasa Suzuki (Fafner: Heaven and Earth) in the studies Signal.MD and Production IG. The script will be in charge of Taku Kishimoto (Blue Lock, Haikyu!!), while Takayuki Goto (Ghost in the Shell: SAC) will design the characters. Shōya Chiba will play Koichi Asakura and Yumi Uchiyama will give voice to Eren Yamagishithe protagonists of this story about art and self-discovery.
A story about talent, frustration and growth
The plot follows Koichi Asakuraa student who dreams of being a designer, already Eren Yamagishia left-handed artist whose creativity has been stifled after an incident. Their paths cross through art, inspiring each other to pursue their dreams. The distributor GAGA describes the series as a deep look at the creative process and the insecurities of youth.
The original manga, written by Kappi and illustrated by nifunidebuted in 2016 and ended in 2022 after 24 volumes. The work had already inspired a live-action series in 2019, and is now preparing its definitive leap to anime with a renewed visual approach and a message about the personal search for talent.
