Pommu, the “Twitter for otakus”, temporarily suspends its services


The newly launched social network Pommupresented as a “secret haven for otakus,” has suspended its services indefinitely due to technical glitches and higher-than-expected user traffic. The announcement was made on November 10 through its official account on X, where the team confirmed that the site will remain under maintenance until further notice.

Developed by Eisysparent company of the popular comics and digital games platform DLsitePommu debuted on November 5 as a network focused on creators and fans of anime, manga and video games. However, just two days after its opening, the site began to experience severe slowdowns and errors at night, caused by the massive arrival of new users.

A launch that exceeded all expectations

The technical team explained that traffic exceeded their forecasts, especially over the weekend, which led to multiple malfunctions and the need to carry out complete maintenance. Some users on social networks have speculated that part of the collapse was due to the arrival of spam accounts and bots from abroad, although the company has not confirmed this information.

For now, the developers claim to be working on the management structure review and bug fixeswithout offering an estimated date for the return of services. In the meantime, they recommend users visit DLChannelthe forum community dedicated to DLsite content. The team stated that they will maintain constant communication and asked for patience from the community as they move forward with improvements to the system.
