The series had gone on hiatus on April 10with a return initially planned for the summer, then pushed to the fall, and finally delayed once again.
The most recent publication of the manga was in April 2024when he returned after an interruption of almost four years. Previously, the work was on pause since December 2019 due to health problems of the author Sasuga. At the time, Tachibana commented that the project would continue “once Sasuga fully recovered.”

A work marked by long pauses
Terraformars is published under the seal of Shueisha since 2011 and has 23 volumes compilations, the most recent released in July 2024. In North America, Viz Media will publish the same volume on November 18. Its adaptations include two anime seasons, several OVAs and a live-action film released in April 2016.
Side projects of the authors
During Terraformars' hiatus, Kenichi Tachibana worked on science fiction manga Gigantispublished in the magazine Grand Jump from Shueisha between 2021 and 2023.
