The publisher Hakusensha announced that the manga Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona), work of the author Mizuho Kusanagiwill come to an end in the magazine's second 2026 edition Hana to Yumewhich will be published on December 19, 2025. With this, a serialization that extended for more than 16 years.
The series debuted in 2009 and tells the story of Yonaa red-haired princess who loses her kingdom after the betrayal of the man she loves. With his protector hakbegins a journey of growth and struggle to recover his destiny and his throne.

A legacy of more than four decades of chapters
To date, the work has 46 compilation volumesand the volume 47 will go on sale on February 20, 2026. In June 2024Kusanagi confirmed that the manga had entered its final arc. The author is also known for titles such as Mugen Spiral, Game X Rush and NG Life.
Yona of the Dawn inspired an anime adaptation of 24 episodes in 2014followed by three OVAs between 2015 and 2016, produced by Pierrot. The franchise also had multiple stage adaptations, including one musical work in July 2024 in Tokyo.
