This Monday it was announced that the manga Hirayasumia slice-of-life work written by Keigo Shinzowill be adapted to both anime like to live-action television drama. The news was confirmed on the author's official account on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by a commemorative illustration where he expressed his enthusiasm: “I'm very happy about the anime and drama adaptations! I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out!”
By the studio behind Dead Dead Demons
The animated version will be produced by the studio Production +h.known for his recent works such as The Orbital Children (2022) and Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction (2024). At the moment, it has not been revealed release date or cast who will participate in the project.
The drama will arrive on NHK in autumn 2025
On the other hand, the live-action adaptation will be broadcast in the nighttime slot “Yoru Dora” of the chain NHK General TV. The drama will air from Monday to Thursday, from 10:45 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Japanese local time)during the season fall 2025which would correspond approximately to the 15:45–16:00 (Spain time, UTC+2).
An award-winning and internationally recognized work
Hirayasumi is published from April 2021 in the magazine Big Comic Spirits from Shogakukan. His ninth volume is scheduled for July 30 in Japan. Throughout its publication, the series has been nominated for Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award 2023 and received the award for Best Serialized Comic at Lucca Comics & Games 2024the largest pop culture festival in Europe. To date, the work has more than 1.1 million printed copies all over the world.
