100 METERS reveals new video with comments from its cast and athletes


The next anime movie 100 METERS (Hyakuemu), inspired by the sports manga of Uotohas published a intermediate video which combines new scenes from the film with comments from the Japanese sprinter Abdul Hakim Sani Brown and the main actors Tori Matsuzaka (Togashi voice) and Shota Sometani (Komiya voice)

Release date and distribution

The film will be released in Japan on September 19while GKIDS will bring it to theaters in the United States in October 2025. Production is in charge of the studio Rock 'n' Roll Museum under the direction of Kenji Iwaisawawith character designs from Keisuke Kojima —who also serves as chief animation director—and music by Hiroaki Tsutsumi.

Manga origin and publication

The original work was published in the magazine Magazine Pocket of Kodansha between November 2018 and August 2019, meeting later in five compiled volumes in Japan.

Synopsis of 100 METERS

The story follows Togashia track prodigy who always wins the 100-meter race effortlessly. In sixth grade he meets Komiyaa transfer student who, although lacking technique, possesses unwavering determination. When teaching him, Togashi gives him a new objective: win at all costs. Years later, both meet again as rivals on the track, ready to show who is the fastest.

The official poster shows the protagonists, Komiya in a blue uniform and Togashi in a red uniform, in full race. The illustration captures the physical effort and intensity of the competition, with both runners sweating and moving at full speed.
