The anime adaptation of Wandancebased on the manga Coffeerevealed a new main visual which shows the characters in energetic poses, highlighting the dynamism of the story centered on dance. Along with the illustration, advance screenings were also confirmed before the official premiere.
Special screenings in Tokyo
Before his debut in October 2025two special events will be held at the cinema Shinjuku Piccadilly from Tokyo on September 27. The first screening will be at 08:45 hours (Spain) with a later stage event, while the second will take place at 11:05 hours (Spain)including a presentation before the screening.
The main voice actors will be present in both functions Koki Uchiyama, Hina Yomiya, Ayaka Suwa and Toshiki Masudaaccompanied by the dancer KAITAmember of the dance cast.
Production team
The anime is directed by Michiya Katowho is also in charge of the script and visual effects, in a co-production of Studios MADHOUSE and CYCLONE GRAPHICS. The renowned K-Pop choreographer RIEHATA participates as a dance producer, while Satoshi Tazaki and Daiki Imamura They work on character design and animation direction. The series will premiere in October 2025 inside the programming block IMAnimation W.
About the original manga
the manga Wandance is published in the magazine Monthly Afternoon since January 2019 and to date it has 13 compilation volumes. The publisher Kodansha USA distributes the English edition.
The story follows Kaboku Kotania high school freshman who usually keeps a low profile due to his stutter. Everything changes when he meets Hikari Wandaa girl who dances with total freedom regardless of the looks. Inspired by her, Kaboku decides to join the dance club, thus taking his first step into a new world where every movement brings him closer to freedom and himself.
