During his panel at Anime NYC, Lucasfilm presented a new visual of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3the acclaimed anthology that mixes the galaxy of Star Wars with the talent of prominent Japanese animation studios.

Premiere and participating studios
Volume 3 will debut in Disney+ he October 29, 2025offering nine animated short films created by different studios in Japan. Among those returning are Kamikaze Douga, Kinema Citrus, Production IG and Trigger. New names are added to them, such as ANIMA (in co-production with Kamikaze Douga), david production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q and Wit Studio.


In addition, this volume will resume the stories of three of the most popular shorts from the first: The Duel, Village Bride and The Ninth Jedi.
Projections and revelations
At the event, it was presented for the first time “Black”short directed, written and animated by Shinya Ōhira in david productionwhere he worked for three years.
The director Takanobu Mizuno confirmed the return of Ronin in “The Duel: Payback”where he will face a Jedi Grandmaster and could ally with a Sith. Takashi Okazaki returns as a character designer, including a Wookiee and the insectoid Huk.
For its part, Hitoshi Haga He announced that the history of “The Village Bride” will continue in “The Lost Ones”following the enigmatic F after Order 66.
New shorts and directors
- “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” – led by Naoyoshi Shiotanitells of a war before Kara's birth.
- “Yuko's Treasure” – of Masaki Tachibanafocuses on the girl Yuko and her giant bear-like guardian android on Tatooine.
- “The Smuggler” – of Masahiko Otsuka (Trigger), tells the adventure of a young thief inspired by Han Solo.
- “The Bounty Hunters” – of Ken Yamamoto (Wit Studio), follows hunters Sevn and IV-AH4 on a dangerous mission.
- “The Song of Four Wings” – of Hiroyasu Kobayashi (Project Studio Q), starring a princess and her R2-type droid that can transform into a combat suit.
- “Bird of Paradise” – of Tadahiro Yoshihira (Polygon Pictures), explores Star Wars' connection to mythology and the symbolism of sacred trees.
The evolution of Star Wars: Visions
The first volume was released in September 2021followed by the second in May 2023with short films from studios from around the world. In November 2023, Studio Ghibli surprised with the short “Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies”reinforcing the versatility of the project.
With this new delivery, Star Wars: Visions promises to further expand the boundaries of animation, offering new stories that intertwine the tradition of anime with the power of the galactic saga.
