The publisher Kodansha confirmed that the manga The Food Diary of Miss Maid (Maid-san wa Taberudake) of Susumu Maeya will receive an anime adaptation in 2026. The news came along with a first trailer and a promotional image that present the protagonist, Suzume Tachibana.


Author celebration and reactions
After the announcement, the author Susumu Maeya shared a commemorative illustration and a message of gratitude to his readers: “The anime adaptation has been decided! I am very grateful to all the readers and the team. The cuteness of Suzume and the other characters will shine even more in the animation. I hope to enjoy the broadcast with you.”

Cast and details of the protagonist
The voice actress Kana Ichinoseknown for playing Suletta Mercury in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercurywill give life to Suzume Tachibana. Suzume is a maid from a mansion in England who, after collapsing during a trip to Japan, decides to stay in the country to discover its cuisine.
Ichinose expressed, “When reading the original manga during the audition, I was moved by Suzume-chan's calm and sweetness. Her reactions to trying different foods are adorable. I will try my best to convey that cuteness and hope you enjoy the warm daily life of Suzume and her friends.”
Production team
The direction is in charge of Ryosuke Senbo (Yo-Kai Watch), with a script Natsuko Takahashi (Anne Shirley) and Saeka Fujimoto. The character design is the responsibility of Chiaki Abewhile Katsutoshi Kitagawa (ROUND TABLE) composes the music. The production will be carried out jointly by the studios EMT Squared and Magic Bus.
About the original manga
Maeya's work is published on the digital platform Comic Days of Kodansha since December 2019 and currently has four compilation volumes. In its English edition, the synopsis describes the story of a maiden trapped in Japan for a year who decides to immerse herself in the local culture by trying all kinds of dishes, from taiyaki and melon bread until takoyaki and onigiri. A culinary experience that not only whets your appetite, but also that of the spectators.
