Lonely Deaths Lie Thick as Snow manga enters its final arc with volume 11


The tenth compiled volume of Lonely Deaths Lie Thick as Snow (Furitsumore Kodokuna Shi yo), created by Hajime Inoryū and Shota Itōconfirmed that the story will enter his final arc with the launch of its eleventh volume, scheduled for winter 2025 in Japan.

International publication

Kodansha USA Publishing announced that it will publish the first volume in English during the spring 2026thus expanding the reach of this title to new readers outside of Japan.

A macabre case that marks the beginning of everything

The plot follows Jin Saekia young detective with an arrogant character who, after responding to a search notice in an empty mansion, discovers a Dantesque scene: the bodies of 13 children and a strange symbol in the place. This discovery triggers a frantic search for Juzo Haikawathe enigmatic owner of the house, dragging Jin on an investigation that will take him all over Japan and confront him with the shadows of the past and the darkest part of the human soul.

From manga to screen

The work began to be published in the application Magazine Pocket of Kodansha in August 2021and its first compilation volume came out in November of the same year. Its popularity was such that it inspired a live-action seriesreleased in July 2024.

The legacy of its authors

Before this work, Inoryū and Itō had already worked together on the manga My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought (Shinainaru Boku e Satsui o Komete), serialized in Young Magazine between 2018 and 2019, and subsequently in Comic Days until 2020. This title reached more than 1.2 million copies in circulation and also has digital publication in English by Kodansha USA.
