The anime adaptation of My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's has confirmed its premiere for October 6, 2025 in Japan, with international availability through Crunchyroll. The news came along with a new trailer that not only reveals unreleased scenes, but also its closing theme titled “Like Gravity”performed by the renowned Japanese singer and songwriter BONNIE PINK.
BONNIE PINK celebrates 30 years of experience
Debuting in 1995 with his album BLUE JAMBONNIE PINK has forged a solid musical career that includes international collaborations and performing songs for franchises such as Rurouni Kenshin, GANTZ, Bio Booster Armor Guyver and Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike. His participation in this new anime reinforces the tradition of linking his music with great Japanese productions.
In relation to “Like Gravity”the artist explained that she was inspired by the gravity magic of Ameliaone of the protagonists. The theme seeks to reflect the emotional connection between her and Akirawho, despite their differences, choose to walk together even in the face of the uncertainty of the future.
The production team and main cast
The project management is in charge of Nobuyoshi Habaraknown for his work on the franchise Fafner. The team includes Kunihiko Okada in series composition (Yowamushi Pedal), Hirona Okada in character design (Gundam Build Metaverse), and Satoshi Igarashi on the soundtrack. The animation is carried out by the studio Sunrise.

The origins of the work
The light novel began in Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2017, later published by Overlap Bunko with illustrations of Tozai. It currently has four volumes in Japan. Its adaptation to the manga, illustrated by Hiroyuki Aigamobegan in 2018 and already has six volumes, reaching more than 1.5 million copies in circulation. The publisher Seven Seas Entertainment distributes both the novel and the manga in English.
Story synopsis
Akira Oda and his high school classmates are transported to another world where they receive special abilities. However, Akira only gains the powers of a supposedly “mediocre assassin.” Over time, he discovers that his capabilities surpass even those of a hero. After distrusting the king who summoned them, he is unjustly accused of a crime and forced to flee, thus beginning an adventure full of mysteries, alliances and battles.
