Bad news for “Re:Zero” fans: the smartphone game “Re:Zero Witch's Re:surrection” will close its service on May 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. (JST). Additionally, with the announcement, magical rainbow crystals, the game's premium currency, have been discontinued.
This RPG based on the popular franchise will barely last nine monthssince it was launched on August 26, 2024. The singer Konomi Suzuki, who has performed several openings of the anime, was in charge of providing voice to the main theme of the game, Resurrection.
If this sounds like déjà vu, it's because this isn't the first time a “Re:Zero” game has disappeared in a short amount of time. “Re:Zero Lost in Memories” also closed its servers at the time, and the browser game “Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu: Kinsho to Nazo no Seirei” also failed to sustain itself. It seems that although the franchise remains a success in anime and light novels, the games are failing to take off.
