Dirty Pair to celebrate 40th anniversary with exhibition in Tokyo


The legendary science fiction series Dirty Pair will celebrate his 40th anniversary with a commemorative exhibition titled “TV Anime 'Dirty Pair' 40th Anniversary Exhibition”which will take place in the Kitasenju Marui event space (7th floor) in Tokyo of the October 10 to November 3, 2025 (Japan time).

For this occasion, a special illustration prepared by Tsukasa Dokitethe anime's original character designer, celebrating the return of this classic to the public's attention.

Legacy that marked science fiction animation

Based on the science fiction action novel written by Haruka Takachihoanime Dirty Pair was broadcast on Japanese television between July and December 1985with a total of 24 episodes. Episodes 25 and 26, which were not originally broadcast, were later released as part of a OVA.

After the end of the series, more OVAs, a movie and a new series titled Dirty Pair FLASH (1994–1996), which featured a revamped character design by Takahiro Kimura. All these productions were developed by the renowned studio Sunrisealso known for adapting another work by the same author, Crusher Joebetween 1983 and 1989.

The exhibition will include original production materials and exclusive objects from both Dirty Pair as of Dirty Pair FLASHsuch as sketches, planning documents, original designs and animation cells of the time.

One of the great attractions will be the Seiun Award certificate displaywon for the original novel in 1980along with the supplementary prizeshown for the first time.

In addition, during the event they will be on sale 40th anniversary commemorative products. Tickets will be available through ePlus from the July 18 at 03:00 (Spain time).
