Detective Conan achieves another giant and historic milestone at the box office


The franchise of Detective Conan continues unstoppable. As announced on its official website, the 28th film in the saga, titled One-eyed Flashbackhas exceeded 10 million tickets sold and generated 14.4 billion yen (around 97 million dollars) as of the date of July 16, 2025barely 90 days after its release in Japan last April 18.

An unprecedented achievement for Japanese cinema

With this milestone, One-eyed Flashback becomes the second movie of the franchise to reach 10 million admissions, after Case Closed: The Million-dollar Pentagram will achieve the same feat in 2024. However, it is the first time in the history of Japanese cinema that a series achieves this number of viewers in two consecutive installments.

Attendance and fundraising records

The feature film was screened in 522 cinemas throughout Japanmarking the franchise's biggest launch to date. Since its debut, the film has remained five consecutive weekends in first place of the Japanese box office ranking and is already ranked as the seventeenth highest grossing film in the history of the country, surpassing even Weathering With You by Makoto Shinkai (2019).
