The news was confirmed on August 3 through official channels, revealing impressive figures just 17 days after its premiere.
With a total collection of 17.63 billion yen (approximately 119.26 million dollars) and more 12.5 million tickets soldthe film is also positioned as the most successful of the year in Japansurpassing Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashbackwhich had led with 14.4 billion yen.
A feat that replicates the success of Mugen Train
This new milestone is reminiscent of the one achieved by Mugen Train in 2020, which also reached tenth place in history in just 17 days. However, Infinity Castle has raised almost 2 billion more yen in the same period, which reflects the unstoppable growth of the franchise.
Furthermore, the film is now positioned as the seventh highest-grossing anime film in Japanonly behind legendary titles like The Moving Castle (19.6 billion yen) and Princess Mononoke (20.1 billion yen).
The team behind the phenomenon
The film is directed by Haruo Sotozaki in the animation studio ufotable. Akira Matsushima He serves as animation director and character designer, while the music is provided by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina.
