Beyond the Trail will have nighttime screenings in Japan this October


The animation studio Studio Dot presented a new trailer for his project Beyond the Trail (Wadachi or Koete Yuke), a short anime that will debut in night performances in it Theater Shinjuku from Tokyo from October 10. The screening will continue for a week, before expanding to other movie theaters in Japan.

A tour of international festivals

This independent work was already presented last July 19 in it Fantasy Festival of Montreal, within the section Anime no Bento. There he participated in the animation competition in honor of Satoshi Konwhere he obtained the Bronze Audience Award for Best Animated Short Film.

A story of war and secrets

Set in a snowy, war-torn landscape, the short follows three young female soldiers in charge of tracking down the remains of the Iron Armyliving weapons that were once human. Among them, esus He stands out for his strength and wisdom, although he also carries unhealed emotional wounds. In the middle of the inhospitable sea of ​​snow, the protagonists must face both their enemies and the secrets that the conflict hides.

An independent project with passion

Beyond the Trail it's a job self-financed thanks to a campaign crowdfunding on the Campfire platform, developed by a group of young volunteer animators. Each member contributed in their free time to give life to this piece of science fiction full of creativity and emotional honesty.

Production team behind

The anime is directed, written and animated by the artist Vab.png. CUZ was in charge of art direction and color design, while Shimauma worked as a key color artist. The production was carried out by FutaMoku and Utsuro Ishinomaki. The photography direction was the responsibility of CloA and Massy. In the sound section, Shunpei Yokoyama was in charge of recording and audio engineering, Takuto Fukuyama of the sound effects, and Keisuke Sogō as a foley artist. The music was composed by Abu-Se-Ken, Yuki Hayashi, Lemone Gone, ZEROKU and Mizore. The main theme, “Kamome feat. Takanashi Yaya”was produced by Abu-Se-Ken.
