Genesis of Aquarion

Genesis of Aquarion

Synopsis

Earth in Genesis 0011 — humanity has lost two-thirds of its population. The cause was a major change 11 years ago. As the ice in Antarctica melts, Atlandia, which was supposed to have perished 12,000 years ago, appears, and the winged “Fallen Wings” are revived. They sent bio-mechanical weapons called “mythical beasts'' into human cities one after another and captured humans. This is to ingest bio-energy “prana”. Meanwhile, in anticipation of a counterattack, humanity has unearthed three hybrid fighter aircraft “Vector Machines” from the underwater ruins. It is a legendary weapon that is said to have driven the Fallen Wings to extinction 12,000 years ago. By combining the Vector Machines, “Mechanical Angel Aquarion” appears. In order to operate Aquarion, humans called “elements” are needed who can sense and resonate with the machine's mechanical life. Because this requires particularly sensitive five senses and pure souls, boys and girls in their mid-teens were recruited to serve as pilots. And finally, the time has come for the “mechanical angel Aquarion” to unite…

Synopsis

In 1973, a war caused by an alien species known as BETA invaded Earth, pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. In response to the overwhelming amount of weapons approaching BETA, humans put into practical use humanoid weapons called “tactical aircraft” and put them into action on the front lines, attempting a worldwide resistance. However, humanity, forced to be outnumbered by the invading BETA, will lose most of the Eurasian continent. Since then, the battle has continued for nearly 30 years, but there is no light in sight in the battle against BETA, and humanity is still struggling in the mire. In 2001, the Japanese Empire, which supports the front lines of the Far East, was faced with the problem of developing the next main tactical aircraft. Therefore, a joint Japan-U.S. tactical aircraft improvement plan was proposed as part of the United Nations Forces' “Prominence Project''. Yui Takamura, a member of the Imperial Guard, is given the responsibility of being in charge of the plan and heads to Alaska. At the same time, Yuya Bridges, a young U.S. military guard, was also heading to Alaska. At that time, the two did not yet know that their encounter would drastically change their fate.
