The light novel Danjo no Yuujou wa Seiritsu suru? comes to an end after four years


The official account of x (formerly Twitter) announced that the light novel Danjo no Yuujou wa Seiritsu suru? (Ya, Shinai!!)written by Nana Nanana and illustrated by Parumreached its conclusion with the release of his volume 12 last Saturday, thus closing more than four years of publication.

Published under the seal Dengeki Bunko of Kadokawathis romantic comedy—popularly known as Danjoru— explores the complicated friendship between a boy and a girl who try to maintain a “purely platonic” relationship. The work accumulates more than 200,000 printed copies and digital in circulation.

A closure after four years of history

The series began publication in January 2021, featuring illustrations by Parum and a fresh tone that quickly gained popularity among readers of the school romance genre. The final volume was put on sale in Japan, marking the outcome of the story that consolidated Nanana as one of the most prominent authors of the label.

The work also inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Kamelieserialized in the magazine Monthly Dengeki Daioh since August 2021. Kadokawa published the fifth compiled volume on June 27.

From paper to anime

In spring 2025, JCStaff produced a 12-episode animated adaptation transmitted by Crunchyroll at a global level. In Southeast Asia, the series was distributed by Plus Media Networks Asiahelping to expand the story's fan base beyond Japan.
