SHY manga comes to an end after six years of serialization


the manga SHY reached its conclusion with the publication of his final chapter number 293 in the 49th edition of the magazine Weekly Shonen Championreleased on November 6. The work, created by Bukimi Mikiputs an end to a serialization that spanned six years since its inception in 2019. The last chapter included 29 pages and one central color illustration to commemorate the closing of history.

Set in a futuristic world, the plot features a shy young woman who takes on the role of Japan's representative heroine in an era where superhumans known as “Heroes” emerged to maintain world peace. Throughout her journey, the protagonist—known simply as Shy— faces his insecurities and strengthens his bonds with other heroes fighting to protect humanity.

A closure that marks the end of an era

The manga debuted in Weekly Shonen Champion in 2019 and quickly gained recognition for its emotional and human approach to the superhero genre. Over the years, it established itself as one of the most beloved series in the magazine's catalog. Its combination of action, drama and personal development distinguished it within the panorama of Akita Shoten's weekly works.

From pages to anime

The popularity of SHY led to two animated adaptations produced by 8bit: the first season aired on 2023 and the second in 2024. Both installments explored the main arcs of the manga, expanding its universe to new international audiences. With its final chapter, the series says goodbye, leaving a story of personal growth and courage that accompanied readers for more than half a decade.
