May Momoyo published the original story of Nigashita Sakana wa Ookikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ookisugita Ken like a short story on the platform Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2020. That same year, it began publishing a sequel series set in the same universe. The play combines romance, comedy and social entanglements within a modern fantasy context.
