The new anime Ghost in the Shellofficially titled The Ghost in the Shellconfirmed its premiere for January 2026. The production will mark a new approach for the franchise, leaving behind CGI and returning to modeling in traditional 2D.
The project is in charge of the studio Science Saruresponsible for recent productions such as Dandadan and Sanda. Although the exact premiere date and number of episodes have not yet been revealed, the series is expected to debut during the first weeks of the month.
In this new version, the direction will be in the hands of Moko-chanwho will make her directorial debut after having been assistant director on Dandadan. His career also includes participation in titles such as Heike Monogatari and Tatami Time Machine Bluescementing his expertise in Science Saru's distinctive visual style.
