Ironmouse Regrets TwitchCon Staff Throwing Out Fan Gifts

The popular VTuber Ironmouse expressed sadness after event staff TwitchCon 2025 in San Diego to throw away the gifts that fans had given during in-person meetings with virtual creators. The incident occurred in the area dedicated to VTuber meet and greetspromoted under the slogan “Powered by Ironmouse”.

TwitchCon is the platform's annual event Twitch that brings together streamers and viewers in in-person activities. However, this edition was affected by several incidents, including reports of security breaches during sessions with creators.

Ironmouse posted a message on its official account X (formerly Twitter)apologizing to the attendees and colleagues affected: “I am deeply sorry for what happened at the VTuber meetups this year. It breaks my heart to know that the staff threw away all the gifts. I should have taken care of it personally. I am so sorry.”

Other creators like Henya They explained that the problem was due to “poor communication” between the venue staff and the organizers: “Due to a misunderstanding, the gifts given to my team during the match were deleted by mistake. I am very sorry for those who gave me a gift.”

In response to the incident, some VTubers like Elara They commented on their concern about the future of the event, pointing out the need for better coordination between organizers and participants to avoid similar situations.

Should TwitchCon modify its gift handling protocols after this incident with VTubers?
