The novel, which told the story of Sung Suhoson of the original protagonist Sung Jinwooconcluded unexpectedly in July with chapter 375, leaving readers with more questions than answers.

In a recent interview with the Russian digital distributor Litersthe creator of the franchise, Chugongclarified that Ragnarok was conceived as a spin-off project and that it did not represent his direct vision of the future of history. “Ragnarok was a spin-off created as fanservice. I wanted to see how another author would write Solo Leveling“he explained. However, the author surprised by confirming that is considering writing his own sequel of the original work.

A possible sequel written by Chugong

According to his statements, Chugong has long thought about continuing the story from his perspective. “I'm considering writing a sequel myself.“, he commented during the interview. His words came shortly after the manhwa of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok introduced a key element: the existence of a multiverse within the franchise.

In chapter 45 of the manhwa, Sung Suho confronts his light novel counterpart, confirming that both versions exist in connected parallel universes. Chugong reinforced this idea by pointing out that Ragnarok is part of the Solo Leveling universealthough it is not a direct continuation, but rather an alternative story “similar to Marvel's parallel universes”.

The Solo Leveling Multiverse

The author indicated that his intention is to establish a main timeline that maintains coherence with its original vision, but that also allows the coexistence of other stories within the same multiverse. In this way, Ragnarok It would not be considered a non-canon project, but rather a complementary version.

The decision to abruptly end the light novel appears to have been related to Chugong's plans to regain narrative control of his work. Various readers have interpreted that this sudden conclusion was a form of free the way for a new sequel written by the author himself, something that now seems more likely after his statements.

A return with original vision

During the interview, Chugong also mentioned that in the original novel by Solo Leveling He left several elements unexplained, with the intention that readers should freely interpret them. Now, he expressed his desire to delve into undeveloped points and offer a more complete version of the history of Sung Jinwoo.

For its part, Daulauthor of the sequel Ragnaroksaid goodbye to the readers, thanking them for the support received and pointing out that their role was that of “a humble guardian of an already perfect world”.

With the end of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok and the recent statements of its creator, fans of the franchise are awaiting the official announcement of the new project which, according to Chugong, could resume the main story with its own approach.
