The classic Magic Knight Rayearth of CLAMP will return to television with a new anime adaptation that will premiere in 2026 on the network TV Asahi. This production will mark the franchise's first new animated project in 29 years, since the release of the 1997 OVA.
The announcement was accompanied by a visual teaser which shows the three protagonists —Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki and Fuu Hououji— gathered in front of the Tokyo Towerthe place where your destination originally begins. This new version also commemorates the 30th anniversary from the television series broadcast between 1994 and 1995.

In the original story, three high school girls are transported to the magical world of Cephiro by Princess Emeraude. There they must become the legendary Magic Knights and face trials that will test their courage, friendship and convictions to restore balance to the kingdom. The series is remembered for combining action, adventure and drama with an emotional focus unusual for its time.
About the manga
The work was created by the group of artists CLAMP and serialized in the magazine Nakayoshi of Kodansha between 1993 and 1995. It later inspired a television anime produced by TMS Entertainmentbroadcast from 1994 to 1995. Its main theme, Yuzurenai Negai, performed by Naomi Tamurasurpassed one million copies sold in Japan, consolidating the popularity of the series both in the country and internationally.
The new project seeks to reintroduce the universe of Magic Knight Rayearth to a new generation, maintaining the essence of its original story with a renewed visual proposal.
