The official account in x (formerly Twitter) platform Story Dash by Takeshobo announced that the manga Mahou Shoujo ni Akogaretewritten and illustrated by Akihiro Ononakawill resume publication on October 17 with chapter 59 on the new site Takecomi! from the publisher.
Return after a health break
The series entered pause in March 2024 due to health problems of the author. Ononaka started the work in the magazine Manga Life Story in 2019, and after the closure of said publication in July of the same year, the series continued its serialization on the website Story Dash. Takeshobo published the volume 11 in January 2024.
Anime success and franchise expansion
The manga has an anime adaptation released in January 2024 in the channels AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS11, sun tv and KBS Kyoto. The series was presented in three different versions: the television edition, the “gushing” available on streaming platforms and the version “ultra-gushing” released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. Each one differs in the level of audio and image censorship.
Second season on the way
During an event held in October 2024, it was officially confirmed that the anime Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete will have a second seasonthus expanding the universe of the franchise.
