The official site of the anime adaptation of Jigokuraku (Hell's Paradise) confirmed that the second season will premiere in January 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a first promotional video and the revelation of part of the new cast and staff joining the production.
New characters and confirmed cast
The anime will incorporate more characters from the Yamada Asaemon family. New voice actors include:
- Shugen Yamada Asaemon performed by Ryouta Suzuki (Wind Breaker).
- Jikka Yamada Asaemon performed by Kouji Yusa (Ao no Exorcist).
- Kiyomaru Yamada Asaemon performed by Maaya Uchida (Grand Blue).
- Isuzu Yamada Asaemon performed by Sayaka Ohara (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken).
Production team
The second season will once again be animated by MAPPA and will be supported by Twin Engine. In addition to the continuity of several people responsible for the first installment, new members join:
- Director: Kaori Makita (Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather).
- Series composition: Akira Kindaichi (Dororo).
- Character design: Akitsugu Hisaki (banana fish).
- Art director: Junichi Higashi (Kingdom) (new).
- Color design: Ayako Suenaga (Zenshuu.).
- Photography direction: Chika Todo (new).
- Music: Yoshiaki Dewa (Kino no Tabi).
- Animation production: Wataru Kawagoe (Takt Op. Destiny).
Availability and platforms
The new season of Jigokuraku will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and affiliates, while streaming will be available through Prime Video, Netflix and Lemino.
About the original manga
The work was created by Yuuji Kaku and published on the platform Shounen Jump+ from January 2018 to January 2021, with a total of 128 chapters. The publisher Shueisha compiled the manga in 13 volumesconcluding in April 2021.
