Chainsaw Man Movie warns after leak of recordings on the internet


The production committee Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc issued an official statement after they began to circulate on the internet illegal images and recordings of the movie currently in theaters. The message was shared on the franchise's official account on X (formerly Twitter) on September 26.

The statement recalls that recording a film inside a cinema is a crime classified in the Law for the Prevention of Unauthorized Film Recordings in Japan. Furthermore, uploading this type of content to social networks or platforms such as YouTube, TikTok or Facebook constitutes a violation of copyrightwhich can lead to severe legal penalties.

The possible legal consequences

The committee emphasized that those who violate these rules may face sentences of up to 10 years in prisonfines of up to 10 million yen or both sanctions. They also added that even anonymous posts can be tracked and lead to criminal complaints.

“In order for everyone to enjoy the film safely, we ask that you refrain from unauthorized recording, publication or sharing of such material,” the statement concluded.

A premiere with a great reception

Despite the incident, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc has had a solid start at the box office, grossing more than 2 billion yen (approximately $13.4 million) since its release on September 19. The film has also received a good reception thanks to its visual section and the participation of renowned musical artists such as Kenshi Yonezu with the song “IRIS OUT” and MAXIMUM THE HORMONE with the extended version of “HAWATARI NIOKU CENTI”.
