Scum of the Brave (Yusha no Kuzu), the irreverent work of Rocket Shokai and Nakashima723confirmed that its anime adaptation will premiere in January 2026. The announcement came accompanied by a first teaser and the revelation of the main team behind the production.
An isekai that breaks the rules
The original manga has earned a solid fan base thanks to its sarcastic portrayal of so-called “heroes.” Instead of idealized characters, it shows individuals full of flaws, dragged down by their weaknesses and contradictions. With the jump to animation, it is expected that it will retain that rawness and black humor that made it stand out.
Confirmed production team
The series will be directed by Shinji Ushiro under the study OLM. The script and supervision will fall to Yoichi Katowhile Rika Murakami will be in charge of character design. The music will be provided by Kenichiro Suehirocomposer recognized for his ability to reinforce tense and emotional atmospheres.
Expectations for January 2026
With a premiere scheduled for the winter 2026 season, Scum of the Brave It promises to be one of the most talked about titles for its different proposal in a market saturated with classic isekai. The first trailer already shows that the animation will opt for a raw and direct tone, in line with the spirit of the manga.
