During the event Aniplex Online Fest was announced Inherit the Winds (Kaze wo Tsugumono), a new original anime set in the Bakumatsu era in Kyoto. The story follows a soldier who has lost his memories and is rescued by the famous member of the Shinsengumi, Sōji Okita. This gives him a new name, Junsuke Tachikawaand with him begins a renewed life among Mibu's soldiers.
A story of honor and rediscovery
The anime presents a scenario full of historical drama: a man without memory who must forge his destiny alongside the Shinsengumi. Beyond the action, the work promises to explore human bonds, loyalty and the weight of identity in a Japan divided by conflict.

From scenarios to anime
Yutaka Narui, playwright and founder of the Caramel Box theater company, had already worked on multiple works about the Shinsengumi. Curiously, one of his theatrical productions also had the title Kaze wo Tsugumonoalthough written differently. Despite this, this anime is officially classified as a project originalthus offering a new vision of the mythical samurai group.
