In just 46 days, Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle shatters box office records in Japan


Kimetsu no Yaiba: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairaithe first installment of the Infinite Castle trilogy, has been crowned the Fastest film in Japanese history to reach 30 billion yen at the box office. The film achieved the milestone in just 46 dayssurpassing the previous record that it held Mugen Train with 59 days.

A box office phenomenon

In its eighth weekend, the film sold more than 501,000 tickets and grossed 804 million yen (approximately $5.45 million). Until now, accumulate 22 million tickets sold and a total collection of 31.4 billion yen (about 213 million dollars).

Climbing in the historical ranking

With these figures, Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle already surpassed Titanic and is positioned as the third highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. Everything indicates that in the coming days it could also surpass the Spirited Awayfurther consolidating the franchise as a cultural phenomenon.

A luxury musical section

The project is directed by Haruo Sotozaki and the animation of ufotable. The soundtrack is not far behind: Aimer interpret “Taiyō ga Noboranai Sekai”while LiSA come back with “Zankoku no Yoru ni Kagayake”bringing power and emotion to the most intense scenes.
