HIDIVE mistakenly issues an incomplete version of Sword of the Demon Hunter


The platform HIDIVE surprised fans this Sunday by issuing a incomplete version of episode 21 of Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentoshothe animated adaptation of the novels by Moto'o Nakanishi. According to the company, this situation was due to limitations in simulcast programmingwhich forced a provisional cut of the chapter that presented missing frames, missing filters and incomplete graphic effects.

HIDIVE's official response

The following day, HIDIVE issued an official statement explaining that the licensor provided an interim version to comply with the scheduled broadcast on September 1. The platform reaffirmed its commitment to subscribers, ensuring that the final version of the episode will be released as soon as possible and keeping its promise of offering high quality content.

Anime broadcast details

The arch Bakumatsu began the July 14. The series had its initial premiere on March 3 in Tokyo MX with a one-hour special, and later came to BS Fuji and M.B.S. he April 1. From the second episode, it moved to its usual slot in Tokyo MX he April 7 to midnight (April 8 JST), continuing on the other networks that same day.

The anime airs on two consecutive coursesand in Spain the new episodes arrive every Monday at 5:00 p.m. via HIDIVE.

Production and cast

The series is directed by Kazuya Aiura (Assassins Pride) in Yokohama Animation Labwith Deko Akao (Noragami, Arakawa Under the Bridge) in charge of the scripts. The character design is in the hands of Taro Ikegamiwhile the music is provided by MONACA with Ryuuichi Takada, Keiichi Hirokawa and Kuniyuki Takahashi. The closing theme, “Sen-ya Ichi-ya feat. Izumi Nakasone (HY)”is interpreted by Hilcrhyme.

The main cast includes the well-known Taku Yashiro like Jinta, Queen Ueda like Suzune and Saori Hayami Like Shirayuki.

Origins of history

Sword of the Demon Hunter is based on the novels published by Nakanishi, the first volume of which appeared in June 2019 with illustrations of Tamakiand which concluded in November 2023 with a total of 14 volumes. The work also has a manga adaptation by Yu Satomiserialized in Monthly Actionwhose eighth volume went on sale on March 19.

The plot places us in the Edo era, where Jinta and his sister must flee their home and end up in a mountain village. There, over the years, Jinta becomes a swordsman in the service of a priestess of the local shrine. His mission to eliminate a demon triggers an unexpected journey: the creature speaks of a destiny that will connect him to the future, beginning an adventure that crosses different eras as Jinta fights not only against the demonic threat, but also against his own dark nature.
