During the 5th anniversary live broadcast of the anime, the main actors announced that the JUJUTSU KAISEN third seasonbased on the manga by Gege Akutami, will premiere in January 2026. Along with the announcement, a teaser trailer of The Culling Game and a key visual for the new compilation film.
Production team and new compilation film
Shota Goshozono will direct JUJUTSU KAISEN: The Culling Game at the MAPPA studio, with Hiroshi Seko supervising series composition and Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa on character design. The music will be provided by Yoshimasa Teuri, repeating the team from the second season.
Additionally, it was announced a new compilation film titled JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins-which will be released in Japan on November 7, 2025. This feature film will include a summary of the Shibuya Incident arc and the first two episodes of The Culling Game. Toho Animation and GKIDS will release it in North America under the title JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution on December 5th.
Exhibition and upcoming events
It was also revealed a anime exhibition in Sunshine City, Ikebukurowhich will take place from December 5 to 29 and will cover the arches of Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and Shibuya Incident. Later, the exhibition will tour other cities in Japan.
The event JUJU FES 26 will be the final fifth anniversary celebration and will take place in early fall 2026. Likewise, the mobile game Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade announced his next arc: Cursed Prison Islandsupervised by Hiroshi Seko. More details, including the opening video produced by MAPPA, will be revealed on September 23.
A brief synopsis of the anime
Yuji Itadori is a young man of extraordinary physical strength who leads an ordinary school life. To save a companion attacked by curses, he consumes Ryomen Sukuna's finger, sharing his body with this curse. Guided by the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo, Yuji enters Tokyo Jujutsu High Schoolan organization that combats curses, beginning his life as a hero who uses the curse to defeat other curses.
