My Dress-Up Darling reveals new voices for its second season


The official website for the second season of the anime My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru), based on the manga Shinichi Fukudarevealed this Sunday the incorporation of Maki Kawase and Mayuko Kazama to the cast. Both will debut in episode 20 of the series.

Details of the new characters

Maki Kawase will voice Asahi Ogataa friend from Suzuka who is passionate about creating cosplay accessories.

For her part, Mayuko Kazama will play Miyako Hondaa veteran cosplayer and close friend of Suzuka.

The second season in broadcast

The new season premiered on July 6, 2025 at 00:00 (Japan time)which corresponds to July 5 at 5:00 p.m. (Spain time)through the channels Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV and Gunma TV. At the moment, Crunchyroll broadcasts the anime in simulcast for the West.

A success that transcends anime

Fukuda's manga had already inspired an anime adaptation in January 2022, composed by 12 episodes. At that time, Funimation aired both the subtitled version and the English dub. Furthermore, in October 2024 premiered in Japan live-action series based on the work.

About the original story

The plot follows Wakana Gojōa young man who, after being rejected in his childhood for his love of traditional dolls, lives in isolation until he meets the extrovert Marin Kitagawa. Marin discovers his talent for sewing and convinces him to join her secret passion: cosplay. From there, both begin a unique relationship that combines friendship, personal improvement and creativity.

Manga status

The manga is published in the magazine Young Gangan from Square Enix since January 2018. His most recent arc, “Tenmei”began in September 2023 under a monthly format. The main work officially concluded on March 21, 2025although the publication of an additional chapter and an epilogue was confirmed.

Volume 15 was released in Japan on July 25while the English edition moves forward with volume 14 scheduled for October 21.
