Pokémon Horizons: The Search for Laqua premieres its 4th part


Netflix announced that the quarter of Pokémon Horizons: The Series—The Search for Laquasecond season of the anime Pokémon: Horizonsthe broadcast will begin September 26, 2025. The season began on Netflix on February 7, followed by the second part on April 25 and the third on June 27.

History and new arcs in Japan

In Japan, the anime debuted in April 2023 with a special one-hour episode, airing on Fridays at 18:55 JST. The series began its second arc, “Therapagos no Kagayaki” (The Shining of Terapagos), with episode 29 in October 2023, followed by the arc “Terastal Debut” in April 2024. The fourth arch began in Japan in October 2024, incorporating characters from Kitakamiprominent location in the expansion The Teal Mask from the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Purple games.

Protagonists and new characters

The story follows the new protagonists Liko and Royaccompanied by Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly from the Pokémon Scarlet and Purple video games, as well as the legendary Shiny Rayquaza. Furthermore, they present Friede and Captain Pikachua duo of a Pokémon professor and his partner who fight alongside Liko and Roy.

Creative team behind the anime

The direction of the anime is in charge of Saori Den (Mirage Queen Prefers Circus), with Daiki Tomiyasu (Pokémon Sun & Moon) as creative director. The scripts are supervised by Dai Sato (Eureka Seven, Wolf's Rain, Samurai Champloo). Tetsuo Yajima direct the action scenes, Rei Yamazaki design the characters and Kyōko Ito collaborates as sub-designer. The sound direction is Masafumi Mima and the music is composed by Conisch.
