The production of the anime Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant! announced the past August 11 that the renowned actress Yuhko Kaida —known for her roles as Tsukuyo in Gintama and Marida Cruz in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn— will play Jeanthe adoptive mother of the protagonist Dennis.
A character with heart and culinary talent
Within the story, Jean is the head chef at Blacks Restaurant. Taking in the orphan Dennis, she raises him as her own son, teaching him both how to survive and hone his skills in the kitchen. His first appearance is scheduled for episode 7which will air in Japan on August 14 at 7:00 p.m. (UTC+2).

A little about anime
The television adaptation of the light fantasy and gastronomy novel written by Yuki Kimikawa and illustrated by Gaou was released on July 3, 2025 in Japan. The platform Crunchyroll broadcasts the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS, and the Indian subcontinent.
The plot follows Dennis, a legendary adventurer who, after being expelled from the strongest group in the world, teams up with the young fugitive Atelier to open a restaurant. There, they serve dishes full of flavor to very peculiar customers, facing their problems with a sharp butcher knife and a wok. A place where the stomach and the heart always leave satisfied.
