The television adaptation of the manga “Let's Go Karaoke!” of Yama Wayama has revealed four new members of its cast, all playing yakuza who will make their debut in the episode 4scheduled to air Thursday. Among them are Taichi Takeda as Alcohol allergy, Shōhei Kajikawa as Former No. 4, Takumu Miyazono as Nakibokuro and Soungdok as Gura-san (Mr. Glasses).
These join the extensive cast previously announced, which includes figures such as Jin Urayama (boss), Yoji Ueda (Alien), Hidenobu Kiuchi (Big Brother Yamaha), Shigeo Kiyama (Pinky Finger), among other eccentric characters.
Special presentation at the KyoMAF event
So much “Let's Go Karaoke!” as “Captivated, by You” will have a presentation at the KyoMAFthe Kyoto animation festival, next September 20. Both animes air consecutively on TV Tokyo and ABEMAwith “Let's Go Karaoke!” released on July 24 and “Captivated, by You” scheduled for August 21.
Synopsis of “Let's Go Karaoke!”
The story follows Satomi Okaa high school student worried about his latest choir competition. Everything changes when approached by Kyouji Naritaa yakuza who needs his help for a very particular training session: a karaoke contest whose loser must undergo a painful tattoo applied by the boss himself.
Synopsis of “Captivated, by You”
This story focuses on Hayashia spontaneous young man who lives without worrying about social norms, and in Nikaidoua student who hides his true personality behind a shadowy facade. An unexpected meeting begins a peculiar relationship that challenges the prejudices of the school environment.
Production and trajectory of the manga
The “Let's Go Karaoke!” anime is directed by Asami Nakatani in Dōga Kobōwith Yoshimi Narita in charge of the scripts and Takurou Iga in musical composition. The original manga was published as dōjinshi in 2019 and was edited by Kadokawa in 2020, obtaining third place in the Manga Taisho Awards 2021. It even inspired a live-action film released in January 2024.
For its part, “Captivated, by You” also debuted as dōjinshi in 2019 and collects stories boys' love along with an original epilogue. Both works have been licensed by Yen Press for publication in English.
