Fermat Kitchen, cooking and mathematics anime, arrives streaming this August


The anime distributor REMOW confirmed the acquisition of the rights to stream Fermat Kitchenthe animated adaptation of the manga Fermat no Ryōri of Yugo Kobayashi. The first five episodes will be available from Saturday August 9 on the “It's Anime” channel on Samsung TV Plus and on its official YouTube channel. The sixth and seventh episodes will premiere on Saturdays, August 16 and 23, respectively, following a weekly schedule for the rest of the series.

A story that mixes passion for cooking and mathematics

The anime, which began airing in Japan on July 5 on TV Asahi, follows the story of Gaku Kitadaa brilliant mathematics student who, after facing difficulties in his career, crosses paths with Kai Asakuraa talented young chef who runs his own culinary business. Together they try to create something innovative at the intersection between their two worlds.

  • Daichi Endo, Takuma Nagatsuka, Natsu Yorita and more complete the main cast.

The anime is directed by Takeshi Okamoto and Satsuki Kashiwagiwith assistance from Miyuki Kaieda. Production is in charge of the studio Domericawho is also in charge of the script and composition of the series. The character designs are the work of Okamoto and Kashiwagi, while the music is composed by Satoshi Igarashi.

Musical themes and success of the manga

The opening is by the artist OSHIKIKEIGO with the song “Maillard”and the group DXTEEN performs the ending “Change Over”. The original manga debuted in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in September 2018 and has more than 23 million copies in circulation. Its fifth volume was published on April 30.
