ELLEGARDEN rocks the new One Piece opening


The franchise of One Piece announced that the renowned Japanese band ELLEGARDEN will perform the new opening theme titled “Carmine”. This will become the opening number 28 from the anime, replacing “Tenshi to Akuma” of GRe4N BOYZ.

Premiere date and release on digital media

The song will debut alongside episode 1139 of the anime, which will air in Japan on Saturday August 10, 2025. In addition, it will be available on digital platforms that same day at 16:45 (Spanish peninsular time)right after the episode aired.

A collaboration expected by fans and musicians

“Carmine” marks the ELLEGARDEN's first participation in an animea milestone in the group's career. The band, formed in 1998 in Chiba prefecture, is made up of Takeshi Hosomi (voice and guitar), Shinichi Ubukata (guitar), Yuichi Takada (low) and Hiroki Takahashi (battery). Throughout their career they have released six maxi-singles and six studio albums.

According to their official website, the members have stated to be fans of One Piece for a long time, which makes this collaboration even more special for them and for the anime fan community.

The official YouTube channel of One Piece has already started transmitting a promotional video which features fragments of “Carmine”, allowing fans to get their first glimpse of the rhythm that will accompany the new adventures of Luffy and his crew.
