The long-awaited anime adaptation of the light novel The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counterwritten by Wakatsu Yatsuki and illustrated by Kikka Ohashihas confirmed his release date for January 2026. Along with this announcement, a first teaser trailera promotional image and details of the main cast and production team were revealed.


Main cast already confirmed
The main characters will be played by a cast of renowned anime voices:
- Seiichiro Kondo: Kento Ito voice
- Aresh Indolark: voice of Tomoaki Maeno
- Norbert: voice of Seiichiro Yamashita
- Kamil: voice of Hiroki Tochi
The promotional image shows the characters with their final designs, highlighting the contrast between the magical world and the everyday details that will mark the dynamic between the protagonists.

BL isekai with a counter as a hero
The plot follows Kondo Seiichiroan office worker who is unexpectedly transported to a fantasy world after falling through a mysterious portal. Once there, the first thing he requests is not a sword, but a stable job. Thus begins his new life in the Accounting Department of the Kingdom of Romany. But their apparent routine takes a turn when Aresha handsome cavalry captain, bursts into her life as Kondo faces an administrative crisis… and a much more dangerous threat deep in the forest.
Against all odds, our protagonist does not stay still and embarks on a risky mission to solve a magical problem, causing the anger of his new protector. However, the return will be even more revealing when the gentleman makes his own personal statement.
Creative team behind the project
The series will be produced by the studio Studio DEEN and will have the address of Shinji Ishihira (Tadaima, Okaeri), series composition by Yoshiko Nakamura (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle), character design by Maki Fujii (Sasaki and Miyano), and music composed by Megumi Ohashi (Yuri Is My Job!). Akihiro Yamada will participate as assistant director.

The original light novel series and its manga adaptation by Kazuki Irodori are officially published in English by Yen Pressconsolidating itself as one of the works BL isekai most popular of the moment. With a mix of romance, fantasy, bureaucracy and humor, the story promises to offer a different vision within the isekai genre.
