The Disney XD anime platform The second season of the anime began to air Beyblade last Saturday, with new episodes available each week at 1:30 p.m. (Spain time).
The anime originally premiered in October 2023 in Japan and entered a new plot phase in October 2024. Its global premiere occurred in July 2024expanding its reach to international.
A new story of improvement and teamwork
The plot follows Robin Kazamia young Blader who, after being abandoned by his team after a humiliating defeat, has an unexpected encounter with the former champion Jaxon Cross. Together, they decide to form a new team under the alias of “Blader”, with the intention of challenging the current champion and former partner of Jaxon, Khrome Ryugu.
With the incorporation of the popular influencer Multi Nana-irothe trio gives life to the Team Personaa group that aspires to become professionals and reach the top of the competition known as “The X.”
A stellar team behind the project
The series has a top-notch creative team: Katsuhito Akiyamaa veteran of the franchise, is listed as general director; Sotsu Terada directs animation at the OLM studio; and Hikaru Muno collaborates on the original concept and scripts with Kazuho Hyodo. Besides, Posuka Demizu —known for his work in The Promised Neverland— is responsible for the original design of characters, adapted for animation by Yoshihiro Nagamori.
A franchise in constant evolution
Beyblade represents the “fourth generation” of the franchise, succeeding the original 1999 series, Beyblade: Metal Fusion in 2008 and Beyblade Burst in 2015. It was announced by Takara Tomy in March 2023.
The story also has a manga version published since June 2023 in the magazine Monthly Coro Coro Comics. The manga was created by Homura Kawamoto (Kakegurui), his brother Hikaru Muno and Posuka Demizuand has been licensed by Viz Media.
In addition to the long-awaited anime and manga, the franchise expands with the upcoming release of Beyblade X Evobattlea video game developed by FuRyu that will arrive November 13 to nintendo switch and PC via Steam.
