This Monday, the anime production team My Awkward Senpai (Bukiyō na Senpai.), adaptation of the manga Makoto Kudorevealed his main promotional videoas well as a new official image, additional cast, production team and the release date. The series will debut in Japan during October 2025 through the channels Tokyo MX and BS NTV.
The trailer also previews the opening theme titled “Bukiyō na I love you”performed by the renowned musical duo angelawhich promises to capture the sweet, clumsy tone of this romantic comedy.
New characters join the story
The voice cast grows with the additions of:
- Shōgo Sakata as Yu Kamegawa
- Ami Maeshima as Miho Hotta
- Mitsuki Saiga as Ritsu Kankaiji
Furthermore, it is confirmed that the actress Lynn will give voice to the protagonist Azusa Kannawathe clumsy senpai who gives the series its name.

The direction of the anime will be in charge of Ayumu Kotake (Acro Trip) under the study Studio Elle. Mio Inoue (Slow Start, Wonderful Precure!) will be in charge of the script, while Kenro Tokuda will lead the character design. What is My Awkward Senpai about?
