Uma Musume: Pretty Derby finally comes to the West

It's official! “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby” finally has a date for its global release: it will be June 26. The announcement was made during a live broadcast on PakaTube, where they also said that pre-registrations begin on April 28. The game will be available for Android, iOS, and also for PC through Steam.

And as part of the celebration, the official Uma Musume English Twitter account launched a pretty interesting contest. Prizes include a pair of plane tickets to Japan (yes, Japan!), $50 Amazon gift cards (for 10 lucky people), and acrylic keychain sets from Special Week and Silence Suzuka (for 5 more winners). To participate you just have to follow the account and repost the giveaway video. You have until May 11, 2025 at 11:59 pm to enter.

Plus, if you pre-register, you'll get several in-game gifts once it's released. In case you didn't know, “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby” is a Cygames game that was announced in 2018, but was delayed until February 2021 for better polish. The global version was introduced last year at the Anime Expo, and those attending the 151st Kentucky Derby or Kentucky Oaks Day will be able to try out demos of the game at the Cygames booth.

The franchise is a gacha where you train horse-girls (uma musume) at Tracen Academy to become the best racers in Japan. It is free-to-play, although there will also be things that you can buy within the game. Since its launch, the franchise exploded in popularity: it already has several spin-off mangas, four television animes, OVAs, ONAs, a movie, a play and, of course, a lot of events. As if that were not enough, “Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray” is currently broadcast, focusing on Oguri Cap and his careers. The anime can be seen on various streaming platforms and also on YouTube.
