This is what the Netflix version of Kakegurui looks like


A year ago we told you that Netflix was working on a new live-action adaptation of the popular manga “Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler”, titled “BET”with Simon Barry (Warrior Nun) as showrunner. Now, the platform has finally released a statement: “BET” will premiere on May 15, and its first official trailer is now availablewhich shows a little of what awaits us with this Western version of the most twisted boarding school of all.

The story continues to unfold in an exclusive school for the world's elite, where clandestine betting decides the social hierarchy, and everything takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of a mysterious exchange student. Yes, we are talking about Yumeko Jabami, played by Miku Martineau, who already stars in the trailer showing her iconic madness for risk and chaos.

The main cast also includes Ayo Solanke, Eve Edwards, Clara Alexandrova, Hunter Cardinal, Anwen O'Driscoll, Aviva Mongillo and Ryan Sutherland.

The original Kakegurui manga was written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomurabeginning its publication in 2014 under the magazine Joker Gangan of square enix. Since then it has spawned an entire expanded universe, including the spinoff “Kakegurui Twin“, two seasons of anime produced by MAPPAan adaptation of the spin-off and also a Japanese live-action with two seasons and a movie. So if you already knew the chaos that is “Kakegurui”, get ready to see how Netflix tries to capture that same energy with its own version.
