If you saw “Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica”At the time, you surely remember that there was a quite long pause before the end. Everything was normal until episode 10 was aired on March 11, 2011 … and then, nothing. The two final episodes were delayed without a clear reason.
Of course, on that same day the devastating earthquake in Japan happened, so many things stopped, but fans did not know what happened to Madoka Magica. Some were upset because they wanted to see the end in the midst of so much tragedy, others feared that the series was canceled.

Meanwhile, uncertainty continued. CBC, MBS and TBS announced that they would not transmit the remaining episodes for “self -control”, but without giving more details. After many speculations, the truth was finally known: in the final episodes of “Mahou Shou Modoka Magica”, the strongest witch in the series appears, which begins to destroy the city.
The shocking thing is that, for people within anime, this destruction is perceived as natural disasters: strong winds, earthquakes and chaos. Basically, something too similar to what had just happened in real life.

Gen Urobuchi, the screenwriter of the series, then commented that the delay was a relief because Shaft studios were finishing the episodes almost on the fly. In fact, he said that episode 11, in his original state, would have been “disappointing”, so that extra time allowed them to improve animation.
In the end, on April 21, 2011, episodes 11 and 12 of “Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica” finally came to the air, closing the story with a brooch of gold. In spite of all the drama, the anime was in the memory of many as one of the most shocking of its time.
