A press release listed that the light novels written by Mato Sato and illustrated by Nilitsu“The Executioner and His Way of Life (Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road), will end with the publication of Volumes 10 and 11, which will be released simultaneously in March 2025.
Mato Satou The publication of the novels began through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou under the title “Munouryokusha no Tame no Cheat-goroshi: Shoujo wa Kono Sekai de Ikiru Tame, Shudan wo Erabanai Akunin ni Naru Koto wo Kimeta“. The work began to be published on paper with illustrations by Nilitsu in July 2019 through the imprint GA Bunko from the publisher SB Creative in July 2019.
A manga adaptation by Mitsuya Ryou was published through the magazine Young Gangan from the publisher square enix between June 2020 and April 2024, with seven volumes. In addition, a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios JCSTAFF was broadcast in Spring-2022 (April-June)although a sequel was never announced.
Synopsis of The Executioner and Her Way of Life
Middle student Mitsuki Mutou suddenly finds himself transported to another realm. Summoned by the king of this world for the extraordinary power he is supposed to possess, Mitsuki is expelled when it is discovered that he lacks a Special Concept. Discouraged, he meets a priestess named Menou who explains that Japanese people like him are known as Lost Ones, and that these individuals never stop having Special Concepts. Menou explains that he is part of a church that helps the abandoned Lost integrate into society. She invites him to spend the night at her church, where they can both probe the nature of his ability. Eventually, they discover that Mitsuki's Special Concept is incredibly powerful and dangerous.
