This is what the live-action of Love Live looks like!


The popular franchise of “LoveLive!” announced its first adaptation in live-action formatbased on the hit musical “School Idol Musical.” This new drama, titled “LoveLive! School Idol Musical the Drama“, will premiere on November 21 on MBS and other networks such as TV Kanagawa, TV Saitama, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV and Chiba TV.

The “Love Live!” project began in 2010, standing out for the creation of manga, anime and video games, focused on the stories of young students who pursue their dreams through activities such as school-idols. The musical “School Idol Musical” premiered in 2022, featuring a completely original story that follows ten girls on their journey through school life. Due to its success, it has been confirmed that the musical will return in 2025 with more performances.

The series' creative team includes Kouki Kishimoto, who also wrote the script for the original musical, while Keijirou Tsubakimoto and Hiroto Totsuka will direct. The main cast of the series has been revealed, with actress Miho Watanabe playing Rurika Tsubaki, the protagonist of the story. Nanaka Tomita will be Anzu Takizawa, the idol that Rurika deeply admires, while Nanami Asai will reprise her role as Yuzuha Sumeragi, Rurika's childhood friend and greatest confidant.

Other notable characters include Misuzu Wakatsuki, played by Ayaka Yasumotoand Yukino Hōjō, in charge of Julia Ann. The cast also features talents from renowned groups such as AKB48 and ≠ME, which has further increased expectations for this production.

Miho Watanabe, who plays Rurika, commented on the excitement of being part of the project: «Last summer I had the opportunity to attend one of the performances of the musical, and since then I have felt that I was destined to be part of this story». For her part, Nanaka Tomita, who plays Anzu, pointed out that she found many similarities between her character and herself: «It was easy to connect with Anzu's emotional situation, which allowed me to interpret her role with great care and dedication.».

In addition to the live-action series, the “Love Live!” franchise It continues to boom with other projects. The first film of the trilogyLoveLive! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen” premiered in Japan on September 6, while the third season of “LoveLive! Superstar!!” will begin airing on October 6.

The arrival of “Love Live!
